Facebook and Instagram experienced an outage on Tuesday night, starting at 8:56 pm. Facebook’s service was restored after approximately one hour, while Instagram’s service resumed after an hour and a half.

On Tuesday, March 5, users across Meta Company’s platforms encountered issues with logging in and refreshing their feeds. Facebook users were automatically logged out, while Instagram users experienced difficulties in refreshing their feeds. Some users also reported problems with video streaming on YouTube.
- Recovery codes were supposed to be sent to users’ WhatsApp and email for Facebook login, but many users either did not receive these codes or encountered issues when trying to use them.
- According to Down Detector, over 21 thousand people reported the issue around 9 pm. Among them, 52% reported login problems, 40% reported app issues, and 8% reported website problems.
- Meta spokesperson Andy Stone stated that efforts were underway to address the problems affecting Facebook and Instagram.
